Electricity and Its Importance for Social Development

Electricity is a form of energy that, despite its knowledge and its domain are relatively recent, is found in all aspects and activities of any developed society. The use of electricity represents an important evolution in technological solutions that respond to the needs of humanity; an example is the lighting systems. To satisfy the need to extend working hours, different lighting systems were developed from the beginning of humanity until the mid-nineteenth century. All the systems developed throughout this time, based mainly on combustion, did not bring major differences or advances between them, as the results obtained between the combustion of a wooden torch and that of a petroleum lamp, for example, were very limited and similar. On the contrary, since the success of the incandescent lamp during the third part of the 19th century, practical and clean systems are available that allow any activity to be carried out independently of the natural lighting conditions.

Electricity as a Form of Energy

Electricity is a form of energy. Energy is being able to make things move and make things work. To understand what electricity is about, we must start with the atoms. Atoms are small particles that are very difficult to see, and they are the elements with which everything is formed around us. An atom is composed of protons, electrons, and neutrons. The center of an atom, which is called a “nucleus”, has at least one proton. Electrons navigate throughout the nucleus (in the same amount as protons) at an intense speed. Protons and electrons have a feature called charge, that of protons is positive, and that of electrons is a negative sign. Neutrons have no charge. The protons and electrons are usually lured to each other because they feature different charges. Besides being a service it is a basic necessity to be able to carry out a huge amount of activities, be it the necessary lighting for the school area when reading a book or writing by hand, also the tasks destined to the industry and businesses, providing the energy supply necessary to operate a machinery, an appliance or a device that needs a power source to work.

Final Words

There are varying ways to obtain electric power, having differentiation and importance (especially in recent years) that is obtained using non-renewable resources, these being the transformation of heat through fossil fuel combustion or any other type of hydrocarbons, while that, meanwhile, we have the considered clean energies, which we derive from the use of renewable resources. This last group has for example the use of wind turbines as a technology to obtain wind energy that is transformed into electric energy, or its equivalent in the Photovoltaic Panels that capture the radiation of the sun’s rays and transform it into that resource that both we use at home and this idea is not new to the Mister sparky electricians RI who are very experienced in lighting up homes, schools, and offices.

Now we have known this brief information about electricity and its form as energy; we hope this little information is valuable to you, thanks for reading.
